Psychosocial elements of the patient in the intensive care unit, and necessary knowledge and skills to foster rehabilitation of both adult and pediatric patients in the intensive care unit within small and large medical institutions are also discussed.

This conference is important for multiple healthcare stakeholders as the demand for rehabilitation services embedded in the intensive care unit and the medical complexity of those patients increases.
